Farm Sunday Open Day – 7th June
Tuppenny Barn is participating for the first time in Open Farm Sunday, an open day that connects the charity with its community. We have run many Open Days in previous years however decided that in 2026 we wanted to join the farming community in showcasing how farming is helping build a better, more sustainable future for everyone.
We will run short tours around the organic smallholding so you get a feel for how we grow produce, herbs and cut flowers for the local community. We will have our much favoured homemade cream tea tent with cakes, scones and other delicious delights, catering for all dietary requirements.
There will be an opportunity to view our eco education centre where we will have our produce shop and information on all our charitable activities. We hope to invite a couple of our local artisan businesses that we regularly collaborate with to showcase their products. For the younger generation there will be children’s activities planting some seeds and doing natural art with the education team! There will also be a self-led treasure hunt to take part in on the day with a mystery prize on completion!
Hopefully our soft fruit will be ripened ready for picking in our recently erected new fruit cage for a PYO facility on the day.
Finally we will have plants for sale that we have raised organically on site, as it wouldn’t be an open day without them!

Tuppenny Barn is a member of the Organic Growers Alliance which is a network of growers, farmers and horticulturalists. The OGA is a peer-to-peer support network run by growers for growers. As well, the OGA is a place to exchange information and learn and it represents its members.
