Sow and Thrive – a therapeutic gardening experience
Tuppenny Barn has secured funding from West Sussex County Council to continue this project. This exciting course is designed to support vulnerable people in West Sussex, with an interest in horticulture, to improve life skills and knowledge and both physical and mental health. We hope to engage participants through community participation and help to prepare them for work if appropriate.
What happens during a typical session?
A typical session includes a practical gardening activity, such as seed sowing or growing plants on, with time for tea and chat and making friendships.
When are the sessions?
The next course starts Spring 2026, one day a week.
How can I apply?
Clients will need to be referred either through a support worker, social worker, social prescriber or GP. Clients are unable to self refer.
The course is free of charge and funding support is available for public transport for those who need it.
